TRUBADOR TURNS DOWN TWO RECORD DEALS
LHP Records outta England offered the band a 7 year contract &
Empty Vessel Records outta Atlanta GA offered us a 2 year record deal. We turned them
down. it wasn't exactly what we were looking for. 2 managers & 5 booking agents also
made offers.
TRUBADOR is an American rock band based out
of Nashville TN. They have melodic driven songs with originality, depth, emotion and
plenty of hard-driving drums. The singer vocalizes most songs with a heavily-felt
presence. Sometimes they lighten up with acoustic work but still remain firmly infused in
their heavier roots.
They've been described as having the sadness and haunting sounds of Black Sabbath, to the
heavy feel of Alice in Chains in some songs. Most of their fans are music listeners who
enjoy long listens, album rock, 90's heavy/grunge style and 70's metal bands. With a
requirement of strong song writing.
TRUBADOR is a rule breaker. Known frequently to break rock-song rules by having many
structures built within each song. They continually will push the boundaries of a
listener. This can range from having no chorus, to no singing on a chorus, using half
vocalized and half instrumental songs, going straight acoustic, and using a range of lyric
content from three worded songs to 9 minute epics.
They're described best by their fans as very original, kick ass rock band with a return to
serious music writing as an art form. - "We place a lot of emotional trust in our
listeners. We know we don't always follow the rules of what your "supposed to
do" or what's popular for musicians today but we're guided more by what we feel the
song needs and how we feel when listening to it. Ultimately we leave all the trust to the
ears of our listeners and fans. They're really what it's all about for us. Getting our
music into their hands and building a relationship with them."
Record Label Offers: We've received two record label offers so far but rejected both.
We'll consider any serious record label or manager offer that doesn't control our creative
output or vision. Our music is our life. That and our beliefs. That's all we have in this
world. You wanna kno what heaven on earth is? Its getting into that groove, getting lost
in the song, having sweat pour down your face and looking up to see someone in the
audience "sharing" that moment with you man. There's no price to be paid for
that. It's not having a record label control your music, videos or God help you... having
to do a "Best Buy Tour" playing next to the headphones and mp3 players! We will
not be whored out. That's not what we're about. Having a "cool" banner on
myspace or performing on some lame 8 am, coffee-buzzed tv show with "perky"
hosts is about as far away from TRUBADOR's as you can get. We're not interested in looking
pretty or becoming a spokesperson. PS: if you're a record company that cares about 100%
money and nothing else.... F' off - marcoe , criss & jaymes

THOUGHTS
"I first discovered
TRUBADOR on MySpace Music and the first song I listened to was "Another Life". I
played this song a few times because I was blown away that a Metal/Grunge (whatever) rock
band were performing a song that both confirmed and articulated my own experiences and
general outlooks on life. There was something magical, real and potent about this song
that I was in a bit of a daze for some time. Trubador had struck me in places that only I
had dared to venture in my mind and I wanted to hear and know more about them."
"I, too, watched all their videos on YouTube as each one brought a humility, rawness
and realness to a music genre that in the minds of many would still be
perceived as "tough" or "hard" and the like. Dont misunderstand
me here, as Bon Scott informed us - "its a long way to the top if you wanna
rock n roll" and to travel that road requires a toughness that is rarely
developed, let alone present, by so many who dare tread it. But beyond all that it
requires vision and confidence to embark on the journey Trubador has set course for
themselves - I said confidence, not arrogance and did I mention humility?" "In
my opinion Trubador are the finest three-piece rock band to have emerged since Nirvana and
are deserving of as much support they can get. Ill tell you this, it will take a
courageous band to offer Trubador a supporting gig or concert because unless the main act
is as authentic, real, competent and capable as Trubador they may very well find
themselves taking a back seat. Having said that, Marcoe (guitar/vocals), Criss (drums) and
Jaymes (bass) are more than capable of being the main act in their own right and they know
it too. Not just that but fans and listeners of their work know that too, myself
included." "Im the very proud owner of a signed copy of Trubadors
debut album "Earth" and will confidently state that this album would take pride
of place in any discerning music listeners collection, rock or otherwise, simply
because it is a rare and documented piece of gutsy, gritty, yet sublime rock containing
songs that will leave deep impressions in the listeners mind."
"Todays music scene and "Pop Culture" it general has become overly
infatuated with the personalities behind the music and whilst this is interesting to a
certain point sadly the phenomenon has become so absorbed in the players that the
players music often becomes obscured in fantasy coloured over with a thick lick of
gloss in the perception of the listeners; a coat of paint that were it to be stripped away
all that would remain would be largely a dull, uninspiring, repetitive and shallow noise
easily forgettable - unless one enjoys being absorbed in tedium. Fortunately, Trubador
would never suffer this fate because if you are interested in the three brothers who make
up Trubador then go and watch one of their many episodes documenting their day to day
lives on YouTube. Not only are they engaging, intelligent and highly entertaining they are
down to "Earth" and as real as your next door neighbour. One would have to be a
complete automation not to take to these guys and in due corse totally warm to them as I
have - and far from extracting any magic from their music by "knowing" them you
will discover where some of the magic emanates from when you listen." "In
closing Id like to express my personal thanks to Trubador for injecting back into
rock music that which the past decade or so (at least) has almost completely drained via
that vampire of vanity and commercial greed - oh, and deaf music "executives".
MF, 24th April 2010." BY Michael Fugazi / http://www.myspace.com/michaelfugazimusic
hey i read ur description on ur channel, and i am wowed! u guys feel the same way about
rock and music as i do! i too deeply and profoundly love rock music, it is my life. i hope
to one day be doing the same as u, playing in a band! it may take a while to really
discover my personal sound and time 4 the music industry to get back into the hard rockin
stuff and not this radio family friendly mainstream piece of shit! but thats cool. i love
rock and i love playing it. there is no greater feeling in life than to be on a stage 4
millions and doing something u love. no greater feeling than being able to express urself
through music. no greater feeling to be rockin out and see the audience enjoying it! but
what really cool is that u guys are grunge! YES!!! where has grunge gone? their were a
bunch of great grunge bands back in the day! i feel grunge was short lived and didnt
really get a chance to leave its legacy behind. thats why we need grunge again! bring it
back, and this time make sure it lives on FOREVER! rock on dudes
Just flicked through a couple of your videos and I'm intrigued by your style and approach
to expressing different facets of life - it's a very revealing take on the rock genre, not
clichéd or contrived, simply honest and true to life. "Try in vain" is a
brilliant tune in my opinion, almost seems to borrow certain stylistic conventions from
Grunge, which is very appealing to me :) I shall continue to work my way through your
work. Keep the creativity flowing :)
wow, usually the new bands now in days are all a? bunch of emo fags, but you guys fuckin
ROCK! Thanks for the invite and keep it up! I know you guys are going to get famous if you
keep it up.
Big thanks for subscribing, you guys must be TRUE fans of music. I have many, many different
and divergent styles of music on my channel. Muchos Appreciados! (the title of KYUSS"
greatest hits,like you didn't know). Gritty and grungy,I like it,real rock'n'roll. You
cats can jive in live, but I bet if you were put in a studio the frontman's vocals would be
even more? powerful and rugged! Thanks for the sub and add. See ya' later like Darth
Vader.
You guys are great! Ur music is? so good! The lead singer reminds me of Zakk Wylde! (its a
good thing). If you guys get really famous, I will so go to one of your concerts.
Oh man this shit is fucking mother fucking awesome! I love AiC! Also Nirvana of? course,
and Staind. Yeah man, you are on of my favourite bands right fucking now!
I like this. The drums are the defining characteristic in this band. It all comes?
together around that. Are you guys gonna be touring the US?
did i see a Kurt Cobain poster there? =P you guys shound...different...from other bands,
there isnt a commercial tone tou your music ? I like your sound
I love the flavor of your songs. They have some good lines & messages, with enough
angst built in. However, I would be remis if I just blew smoke up your proverbial orifice.
You don't know me from Adam, but I would like to see a Nashville band succeed. I am
hearing the same overall sound, and attitude from the guitar. I think it needs to have
more tonal variety (different pedals, selector pickup switches, amps, amp settings, vary
the model of guitar. This is evident in "Another Life" and "Try In
Vain." Marcoe, this is not a slap to you. I'm just telling you what your bandmates
should have. I hear that you are definately a player. I love the change of pace, rhythm
and the drum intro on "The Crow". You guys sing well, and are adept at playing.
Also, I realize that these songs are just demos, but are too the cernal of where you're
headed musically. Hey, I would take what I've said with a grain of salt, if I were you.
Just listen the songs as a group and be honest with yourselves. If you were going to tell
this group something they could change for the better, what would it be? A fan, Reese
& Co. (Mike)
just favorited this.....love everything about it..the music, the lyrics, the vocals, the
video.....you guys? ROCK!!!!! AND KEEP DOING IT!!!
Cheers on your speech you've made in your profile, 's about time people would react to
exploitation of music by those vampires of those main labels that care nothing or too less
about their contracts's interest but only how to make as much money as possible. There
should be more bands like yours and then finally the chirade of 'breaking through' in the
world of music will be brought down forever, It's not the labels that allow a band to
break through, it's US the people, and when the people like you then you don't need a
stupid label to 'take care' of the other things, Keep up making your music and I'll keep
check'n in to listen to it Cheers -501-
I checked out your little rant and it made me smile. It's no different over here though I
think England's situation came from 'flooding the market'. A hundred pubs in a 10 mile
radius with live music every night of the week in some parts of London. There just aren't
enough fans to go round and being in a band is nothing special anymore. Everybody knows
somebody who plays in a band, big deal. The talk over here is that 'live music is gonna
save the industry' as no-one buys music anymore but I'm not holding my breath. If you're
forced to give your music away for free, what does that tell the consumer.....that it
isn't worth anything? The band I was in folded after 5 years because we just couldn't get
anything going, too many bands everywhere, everyone too busy to come out, playing gigs
with 6 other bands and 20 minute sets each, it was a bad joke.......check the film 'Bad
News' by The Comic Strip if you can find it. So, now I just create for the pleasure of it
and what ever will be will be. I was in Phoenix, Arizona a couple of weeks ago staying
with friends, and the scene looked better there but not by much. I think these days people
have too much choice, I was struggling with the tv channels you have over there let alone
anything else ;) Anyways, good luck on journey and long live rock 'n' roll. Maybe
something will change when they realise what they've lost!
Ironically, this song sounds very dark and groove heavy. Amazing song guys, I love the
work that you do, hope to see you atleast once in my lifetime :)
Great sound. Nice to hear some new original rock. Been playin' drums for forty years and
still love hard drivin' music. You guys will go far. Take care and good luck to all of
you.
I was listening to your song "are you high enuogh" and it's a really good song
with good riffs, but when you come in on the chorus theirs not much intensety on it.I think
if you put a little more intensety on the chorus it would take the song to a whole nother
level.Great song
"Another Life" is hypnotically awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We really enjoyed your music. You sound a lot like your influences, but we really felt you
have a lot more "Tool" in you than you realize which is a sweet aspect to have

your hardest to perfect that aspect of your craft! AC/DC is the ultimate live performance.
"THAT'S THE WAY I WANNA ROCK 'N' ROLL" If you ever get to Vancouver BC I'll be

Nice sound, tough yet with feeling. I like the rough edges that peek through in
spots....not at all commercialized and fruity. You have the sound of success about u.

Yeah you guys are awsome, you remind me a little Bit Like Alice in chains, You should do a
cover of one of their songs :]
Thanks for the friend invite. You guys definitely have some good ideas and I like the
whole dark, dreary, vibe thing, however I would try and incorporate? a little more of a
variety in your chord progressions. A lot of the songs seem to sound very similar. Your
definitely a lot better than a lot of other bands out there. And I look forward to hearing
some more new stuff! Peace out!
you should totally sell this song to apple or something make some serous cash

comment: "Trubador is a grunge/metal band that released their debut CD
"Earth" on Nov 1, 2009. Trubador brings back the sounds of classic Black Sabbath
and "grunge gods" Alice in Chains. Sure to please fans of the "Grunge
Era", they sing about the dark side of life with passion."
Recent Rock radio station "The Rock 88.7, Cleveland OH"
comment: "Here's the deal...we can be friends provided you continue playing
ass-kicking music like what you got on your profile...I didn't want to click away while I
was previewing your tunes cuz I was jammin! Would you be so kind as to send me a CD so I
can play you on the radio?"
Many years ago when i first heard Black Sabbath who were a local band to where i live
there was a kind of eerie sadness to there sound which draws you in and i just loved them
they were differen't to all the other rock bands.
When i hear you guys play you have the same effect on me, not that you sound like Sabbath
but you have that same eerie feeling to your music, it's great , i like this, someone
should sign you guys! with exposure you would build a cult following of loyal fans
worldwide. ace"
"I just have to say You guys are one of the last new bands that have a meaning in a
carrer. my life is also music. and having my top band being Pearl Jam. when you guys are
ready to make albums on a profit. ill be one of the first to buy your album. just keep
being friends, Keep replying to people on Myspace. and never let money get in the middle
of your music. " Mike

"Wow I just randomly came across this band while looking for Schecter Baritone vids,
Needless to say I'm sold on the guitar but fuckin' blown away by this great band. 5/5 and
keep rockin' brothers you got yourself another sub."
Talk about 'separating the wheat from the chaff', you guys? are among the 'wheat of rock'.
That Schecter Blackjack Baritone guitar you play in low C shines men - yep even through
YouTube I hear it loud and clear. Above that I hear one of the most potent vocals in the
genre backed up by a smooth bassist and kick-ass drummer. I'm inspired! - youtube ID:

RE: VERY EXCITING NEWS -> TRUBADOR PLACES 34th IN THE WORLD.. "Congratulations
guys! You have stuck by your integrity and your honesty and sincerity clearly is
demonstrated in your music. This may sound like a silly request but PLEASE leave the demo
of Another Life intact. Its raw and real. I played it for a mate of mine
yesterday and he was blown away by the depth of it. Said he got goose bumps! Seriously. Do
you guys have a banner link I could display on my page?" Michael Fugazi
Hey guy's, i just love this..thought that maybe your songs might all be of a similar vein
but this is differen't from anything i've heard from you before...It's MONSTER, shows you
have the writing skills to keep us hooked, fantastic, you just seem to be getting better
and better- WICKED man!
U guys are awsome! The lead singers voice reminds? me of Zakk Wylde, (its a good thing) I
swear if you guys ever get famous one day, I will so go to one of ur concerts!
"Look homies, I'm lookin for an apprenticeship as a sound tech.
I'd rather be Trubador's sound tech but until they headline ozzfest, I'm pretty sure I can
hit up as many shows as I can with the roadie (skady) as I can.
Except I wrecked the car yesterday. I'm alright, but it puts a hella damper on seeing
Trubador live again.
Now, I remember trubador live. I remember them before Criss met Kim, before Jaymes was
legal to die for his country, and before Marcoe was wise enough to stop himeslf from
drinking himself to death.
I sat and drank with these guys til we got their songs down. I told them what needed to be
done and they did their own thing anyways. Why? Because do you see Motley Crue doing what
their Corporate Execs said what to do? Do you see what Twisted Sister is doing these days?
Trubador is the new thing, to bring rock out of the Emo sickness that has plagued american
rock long enough. let's start a new rock revolution that even Pink Floyd couldnt beat.
Lets hear Trubador on the Billboard 1, lets hear them destroy Akon, Kardinal Official, and
anoy other fake fucker that tries to take their place.
There is nothing in me that says they wont sacrifice anything to do it. To make a record
and become the rockers they know they are. They would die for it. Live for it. Anything.
Just get over the Slipknot new album circle jerk and sign them, Roadrunner Records. or
ANYONE. these kids deserve it.
There is nothing they cannot accomplish, given enough time. These men are the new face of
rock. Let them grasp their own revolution. Let's see Trubador face tomorrow's charts with
no fear. Lets see Trubador blow the world away. This band kicks ass, and there isnt a
person on earth that wouldnt agree.
PS: yo marcoe, why am i not on the fav friends? i'm one of the biggest supporters man.
help a brotha out, once i get the car back, trubador stickers EVERYWHERE
GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE NOT ON A LABEL, GEEZE !!!!!!!
Just watched your excellent u tube video (ANOTHER LIFE), man it's so awesome and such
feeling, I LOVE IT! YOU GUYS ARE INSPIRING, I just can't find the words right now, but I
will definitely be LISTENING 2 YOU. THANK YOU AGAIN & GOD BLESS YOU, MUCH LOVE !!!!!!!
SOUNDS ALL TOGETHER ORIGINAL 2 ME !!!!!!! HANDS DOWN THE BEST I'VE HEARD IN A LONNNGGG
TIME. THANK YOU !!!!!!!
